Image
I didn’t know the story of the image at the back of our N20 note until I stumbled on this and I must say that I’m very impressed by Madam Ladi Kwali and her exploits. Nigeria is blessed with great minds! She is Nigeria’s best known potter who was awarded a Doctorate and was made MBE in 1963 for the level of detail and skill she utilized while making her pots. Ladi Dosei Kwali (1925-1983) popularly known as Dr Ladi Kwali was born in 1925 in Kwali town in the present Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria. I join other well meaning Nigerians to celebrate this great woman

Mario Balotelli Faces FA Probe Into 'Anti-Semitic' Message On Super Mario Image Posted On Instagram

Image
i think balotelli's  other name should be TROUBLE cus he is always looking for some. The Italian striker re-posted an image to his Instagram account of the gaming character Super Mario which read, 'Don't be racist — be like Mario. He's an Italian plumber created by Japanese people who speaks English and looks like a Mexican.' At the bottom the image included the words, '... jumps like a black man and grabs coins like a Jew.' If Balotelli is charged by the FA he could face a five-match ban. Balotelli then appeared to delete the image before denying he had made an offensive anti-Semitic reference. 'My Mom is jewish so all of u shut up please,' he said on Twittter. A spokesperson for the FA was quoted in the Guardian saying the governing body was looking into the matter. They can take action if they believe Balotelli has 'bought the game into disrepute by making comments which included a reference to ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race...

Kim Kardashian broke the Internet with her Paper Magazine cover, however locals in Mexico are now ready to break her...as a piñata. Kardashian who shocked the world by bearing her most famous ass-et on the magazine cover, has been transformed into a piñata by one dedicated, and talented fan. The piñata, which bears a striking resemblance to the original photo cover, shows Kardashian displaying her bear back and derriere while teasingly holding up the top of her glamorous black gown. Piñatas are incredibly popular in Mexican culture, and are created in multiple shapes and sizes, however this is most likely the first time that a fully nude Kardashian immortalized in the form of one. Check out the original of Kim Kardashian on the cover of Paper Magazine, and let me know which one you like better, the piñata or the photo.

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey will spend Christmas together. The couple, who married in 2008, announced their separation earlier this year but Nick has confirmed that won’t stop him spending the festive season with his estranged wife and their three-year-old twins, daughter, Monroe and son, Moroccan. Looking forward to Christmas, he said: ‘Gotta keep that going. I want to make sure we have a wonderful holiday together.’ Asked where they would spend the big day, the 34-year-old star told In Touch: ‘Somewhere cold and snowy, like Aspen [Colorado]. Nick explained that his children are his number one priority and even previewed their Christmas presents, saying: ‘Everything I do is for them. WOMAN DIES AFTER GETTING SURGERY TO ENLARGE HER ASS!

Image
People who are extremely dissatisfied with parts of their body often turn to plastic surgery to correct whatever they don’t like. Plastic surgery is not cheap and insurance normally does not cover it as it is a cosmetic surgery as opposed to one that is medically necessary. This leads people to shop around for cheaper options in other countries. Unfortunately the consequence of seeking out these surgeons in foreign countries is that you get what you pay for. Botched surgeries happen all the time as many of these surgeons are not licensed to practice medicine. This is the route that 23 year old Joy Williams went and she paid the ultimate price. Williams is a British-Nigerian woman who was not happy with her backside. Instead of seeing a reputable doctor she shopped around for one who was cheaper. She ended up going to Thailand and seeing a surgeon named Sompob Sansiri, 51, who was only charging roughly $4,000 as opposed to $14,000-$16,000 like most surgeons. She thought that she w...

Vela hat-trick gives Moyes winning home start

Image
Former Arsenal winger Carlos Vela scored a hat-trick to give new Real Sociedad coach David Moyes a winning home start in La Liga with a 3-0 victory over Elche on Friday (Nov 26). Former Everton and Manchester United manager Moyes had seen his team draw 0-0 at Deportivo in the Scot's first game in charge last weekend. Any worries he had over his home debut at the Anoeta stadium were eased after just three minutes when Mexico international Vela found the target with a powerful header. Vela made it 2-0 on the half-hour mark with a calm, incisive finish following a superb Xabi Prieto ball and he completed his hat-trick eight minutes into the second half by stabbing into the net at the far post after latching onto a Carlos Martinez pass. Vela now has five goals for the season while the win, just a third in La Liga for the San Sebastian side, took Moyes's new charges into 12th place in the table. "It was a good match for me, but the most important thing was that we won,...

Gadhimai: World's biggest ritual slaughter

Image
Motilal Kushwaha had promised the Hindu goddess Gadhimai that he would offer her a male goat if one of his children found a job. Last year his son was successful -- and on Saturday he was one of tens of thousands of people killing the animals at the temple of Gadhimai in southern Nepal as part of the biggest religious mass slaughter in the world. "From my village everyone has made a vow [to offer animals]," says Kushwaha from Bariyarpur, a community in Bara district about 60 miles south of Kathmandu. Some, he explains, are glad they have got a son or a daughter, others that a different form of good fortune has befallen them. The ritual sacrifice of goats, buffaloes and roosters in temples and at home is widespread in Nepal where 80 percent of the population are Hindu. Some five million people from adjoining districts -- and also from the bordering Indian states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh -- will attend the festival, according to local authorities, although only two days a...
