Rule Of Time!

Image
Time management is the art of organizing, scheduling, and budgeting one’s time for the purpose of generating effective work and productivity. Four Rules Of Time:   Time Is Perishable. Time cannot be saved it can only be spent because time is perishable. We must learn how to spend time reprioritizing or moving completely away from activities of low value to high value tasks because once time is spent, it is gone forever   Time Is Indispensable. All activities of life require certain amount of time whether you take cognizance of it or not. Be committed to the established 10/90 rules, which suggest that you spend 10% of your time to plan carefully in advance so you can save 90% of the efforts you need to achieve your desired goals. The act of thinking through and planning your work in advance will dramatically help you to manage your tasks effectively.   Time Is Irreplaceable. Time is the only currency that sustains everything in your relationships whether you are dealing with memb

12 Rules Of Effective Self-Management

Image
Managing and leading people are not exclusive actions reserved for only those who hold “positions” in an organisation. We believe management and leadership are callings, which we all participate in at different times to different degrees. We can learn to adopt the 12 Rules of Self-Management to enhance our effectiveness in whatever vocation we engage in . 1. Live by your values. You confuse people when you are double faced. 2. Speak up. No one can “hear” what you are thinking without your willingness to stand up for it. Mind reading is something most people cannot fathom. 3. Honour your own good word and keep the promises you make. If not people will eventually stop believing most of what you say. 4. When you ask for more responsibility expect to be held accountable. This is what seizing ownership of something is all about. 5. Don’t expect people to trust you if you are not willing to be trustworthy. Trust is an outcome of fulfilled expectations. 6. Be more productive by creating

It was hard not to celebrate 'bittersweet' Bernabeu goal, admits Morata.

Image
The Spanish striker found it tough to face his old club on Wednesday but insists his decision not to celebrate his strike was the right one Juventus striker Alvaro Morata struggled to contain mixed emotions after eliminating boyhood club Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League. The 22-year-old opted to leave the Santiago Bernabeu side for the Serie A champions in July 2014 after failing to win over head coach Carlo Ancelotti, and has since reignited his career in Turin. Madrid's decision to let go of Morata came back to haunt them in the Champions League, with the attacker scoring in both Juventus' 2-1 home win as well as Wednesday's 1-1 draw in the return which saw their title defence come to an end. "This is exceptional. I was very emotional to score a goal, but it was a bittersweet feeling," Morata told Canal+. "It was quite hard not to celebrate the goal. It was a weird feeling. But I would react the same again a thousand times. "

The silent achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan

Image
The value of a step taken is measured by its impact and consequences. It is in this regard that the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan must be commended for its efforts in notable areas as agriculture, information and communication technology, employment, transportation and revitalization of the automotive industry among others. One cannot wish away or fairly dismiss the remarkable efforts of thoroughbred technocrats like Mr. Olusegun Aganga who has been overseeing the Ministry of Trade and Investment; Dr. Omobola Johnson who has been in charge of the Ministry of Communication Technology; and Mr. Akinwunmi Adesina supervising the Agricultural strides of the Jonathan government. Yet there are others. It is an information age and it may be best appropriate to begin from the many leaps Nigeria has taken in this area in the last four years, with Dr. Omobola Johnson steering the wheels at the ministry of Communication Technology. It is easy to casually sum it up to say that int

15 AMAZING AND RARE NATURAL PHENOMENONS ON EARTH

Image
Nature is not only occasionally quirky; it is downright mysterious and beautiful. It turns out that the earth is filled with rarities so odd they have defied explanations for millennia, and even today many of them remain hard to define. Some events are so rare they only occur one place in the world, or have only been seen by a small number of people. Others may be more common but are just as mysterious and incredible. So take heart that the savage maelstrom, the ethereal foxfire, and the beautiful ball lightning really exist in the world…but maybe don’t get too close, because these phenomena really don’t hold their punches.

Goodluck Jonathan, profile of a defeated president

Image
Until November 2009, he was serving out his time as a low-key deputy from the south of the country to a low-key president from the north. But then, President Umaru Yar'Adua was taken to hospital in Saudi Arabia and was not seen again in public until he died on 5 May 2010. Step forward, Mr Jonathan. After months of political wrangling, Nigeria's elite finally accepted him as acting leader in February 2010 when the ailing president returned home, but remained too ill to govern. Barely 12 hours after Mr Yar'Adua's death, Mr Jonathan was sworn in as the new president and commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Africa's most populous nation - one of its most fractious democracies. Not bad for a man who had never been elected to major public office in his own right. He defied the governing People's Democratic Party's (PDP) tradition of alternating presidential power between north and south after two terms of office by winning the party's primaries. In
